Pulsar 12,000W Dual Fuel Portable Generator in Space Gray with Electric Start, G12KBN
In a nutshell, the Pulsar G12KBN is a powerful portable generator mostly geared towards:
- Prudent homeowners who want a backup power source in case of a power outage
- Homeowners who want to be sure of their ability to power their fridges, cooking tools, heating and lighting equipment during power failures
- RV travellers looking for even more independence
POWER & RUN TIME
- The dual-fuel technology of the Pulsar G12KBN allows for an output of 120/240V and provides superb power and versatility. If gasoline-powered, the device provides a running wattage of 9,500W and a starting wattage of 12,000W.
- If propane-powered, it gives 8,550 rated watts and 10,800 starting watts.
- Enjoying a noise rating of 74 dBA (just slightly more noisy than a dishwasher), this generator can be started thanks to a conventional pull-start mechanism, but also to a simple and elegant electric starter (battery included).
- The G12KBN, with a fuel capacity of 8 gallons, reaches a run time of around 12 hours at 50% load utilizing gasoline (fuel consumption around 0.67 GPH).
- Alternatively, it can reach a run time of around 5 hours (estimation based on a 20 lbs tank - propane consumption around 0.94 GPH) with propane.
OUTLETS
The control panel includes the following 6 AC outlets:
- Two Duplexes 120V 20A (5-20R)
- 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle
- 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle
It also sports 1 DC outlet: there's a 12V 8A output with which charging your batteries is made easy.
If you own an RV with a 50-amp service, you can consider this Pulsar unit as RV-ready, as it features a 14-50R outlet. In addition, as the G12KBN holds a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, it is transfer switch ready: you'll easily be able to connect it to your breaker box to power your home during a power outage.
PORTABILITY
The Pulsar G12KBN has the following dimensions: L28.5 x W21.8 x H22.2 in.
In combination with its conventional, open frame design, they provide support and allow the generator to be raised above ground level. The device has been designed for tough environments and demanding outdoor use.
Since the generator weighs 209 lbs, it will be incredibly difficult to manually lift it and transport it, even though it is technically considered to 'be portable' (in the sense that it is movable). However, this lack of maneuverability is compensated by its wheel kit (?10") and its folding handle, with which you can conveniently shift it, once it's on the ground.
